Islam Makhachev defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 302 in an incredible main event on Saturday night.
Makhachev is the new lightweight champion, submitting Poirier with a Darce choke at 2:42 of the third round. Makhachev was dominant throughout the fight, controlling Poirier on the ground and eventually securing the tap.
Before the main event, Michael Chandler defeated Tony Ferguson by unanimous decision. Paddy Pimblett submitted Jordan Leavitt in the second round.
