Celtics Pull Away with Overtime Win in Game 1

Close Finish in Hectic Eastern Conference Finals Opener

Boston Escapes With Victory Thanks to Brown's Clutch Shot

The Boston Celtics narrowly escaped with a 133-128 overtime victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night. The Celtics looked like they were heading towards a Game 1 loss in the final seconds of regulation, but Jaylen Brown drained a game-tying three-pointer to send the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Celtics pulled away from the Pacers and never looked back. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 34 points, while Brown added 25 points, including the game-tying three-pointer in regulation. Malcolm Brogdon led the Pacers with 31 points, and Tyrese Haliburton added 27 points.

The Celtics now have a 1-0 lead in the series, and they will look to take a 2-0 lead when they host Game 2 on Thursday night. The Pacers will need to bounce back in Game 2, or they will be facing a 0-2 deficit.

Here are the latest Celtics-Pacers odds for Game 2 courtesy of BetMGM, an authorized gaming operator of the NBA:

  • Celtics -5.5
  • Pacers +5.5
  • Over/Under: 230.5
